Day 1: Casablanca

Our adventure starts mainly from the airport in Casablanca, as you will be picked up by your personal driver for a short drive towards your hotel for the check-in and a short rest before you start discovering the largest mosque in North Africa. The mosque is located on a peninsula overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. With a room for 25,000 worshippers and its huge minaret of 210 meters. Straight after the mosque we head back to a restaurant for our first meal together willing to know more about each one.

 


 

Day 2: Chefchaouen

First sunshine in Morocco brings a warm desire to discover the country, our destination today is the blue city, through our drive we pass by Moroccan administration capital, Rabat, where most of the embassies are situated. Its clean streets, organized traffic give the city different beauty. In Rabat we visit Hassan Tower which is the Minaret of an incomplete mosque and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. This site was added to UNESCO world heritage in July 1995. Chellah is another monument in Rabat that we can enjoy before we leave, it is a heritage site goes back to the Phoenicians ages with its amazing ruins. After lunch, we drive straight to our city in which the arrival will be late afternoon.

 


 

Day 3: Chefchaouen

Overnight: Chefchaouen

Today is mainly devoted to the charming blue city so as to meander the mystical medina, This town is a visual delight in blue; walls, doors, windows; stairways, alleyways and archways – everything is a combination of soft pastel sky blue and deeper. The blue city make you feel like you have a second chance to live, We leave to another village nearby to have our first home hosted meal with a local family from the Rif Mountains, then return back to Chefchaouen in the afternoon. Late afternoon is the best time to have a short walk to the Spanish mosque from where you will be able to take a beautiful picture to the town with an amazing view of the sunset.

 


 

Day 4 : Volubilis – Fes

Say goodbye to chefchaouen, and drive south to Fes pass through the roman ruins and maknes,. Volubilis, the most important and extensive remains of a Roman city in Morocco and one of the most distant of the Empire’s domain. Depart for Meknes, visit Bab El Mansour gate was completed by Moulay Ismail’s son, Moulay Abdallah, in 1732. Stop next at Hri Souani, which is a complex of three different buildings built for granaries and stables. This amazing site has been used as a scene for many films, the most famous of which is probably “The Last Temptation of Christ” in 1988 by Martin Scorsese. You end the day in one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, Fez, where you can prepare for tomorrow’s fascinating tour around this delightful medieval city.

 


 

Day 5 : Fes city tour

At 9am, Enjoy the guided city tour of Fes. Begin with the entrance to the largest royal palace in Morocco. Continue with a panoramic view of the ancient medina. Enjoy an authentic experience at the traditional ceramic crafts village of Fes after that. Your next stop is Fes El Bali, the ancient town or Medina, which is a medieval part of Fes that has not changed for centuries. Optional lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the famous AlKaraouine mosque, built by Fatima Al Fihria in 857. Al-Karaouine mosque became home to the University of Al-Karaouine, which is the first university in the world and the world’s foremost center of learning at the beginning of the second millennium. The university was built by Fatima Al Fihria in 859, and, since then, it has become one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the Muslim world. In the medina, visit also a Merdersa, which is a Coranic school. Complete the city tour of Fes with the leather Souq and the oldest Leather Tannery in the world. The tannery dates back at least nine centuries.

 


 

Day 6 : Fes – Merzouga

Today is your longest drive to the desert passing by many wonderful cities and villages, the first break will be in Ifran or the Moroccan Switzerland as the architecture is unique and completely different rather than the rest of the other cities in all over the country. The lunch, today, will be scheduled to be a picnic in the middle of nowhere, only mountains around.

Driving to the south is different than to the north as The landscapes here includes oak trees and cedar forest before driving down the curves and join the pre-Saharan zone passing first by Errachidia where the big palm tree valley is located, the valley is named after the river Ziz. Erfoud, is the last city before you get to the sand dunes and it is famous by its interesting fossil quarries. Fossils are a major industry in Erfoud, millions of years ago the region around Erfoud was all covered by the sea. Heading up to the red colored sand sea dunes of Erg Chebbi at Merzouga via Rissani, the hometown of the Alaouist dynasty, where Moulay Ali sheriff started to unify Morocco under his red flag in the beginning of the 17th century. From a vast plateau you will get impressed by the huge sand dune of Merzouga appearing from the horizon. Your camels are waiting for you to start the trip to the camp before the sunset in order to see one of the fascinating sight you will ever seen, it’s a view of the sunset from the middle of the high dunes. You spend the night in the heart of the dunes with clear sky to see the stars. Obviously, this night must be the highlight of the trip.

 


 

Day 7 : Merzouga

Overnight: Merzouga

Rise with the dawn to watch the sun beginning its daily arc with a cool blue morning sky as it illuminates the desert shadows before becoming a glowing ball of fire. You’ll return to a local hotel where you stay the second night in the desert. Today there will be a plenty of activities to do starting with the visit of a local Gnaoua family, who play the southern vibes of Gnaoua music. We will learn more about the techniques of photographing moving scenes as the Gnaoua musicians tell you all about their history and music. Enjoy the local lunch facing the dunes while having a Berber pizza which is totally different than the one you may had before. Throughout the sand dunes we go for a drive on the fabulous landscapes on the edge of the Erg Chebbi, the largest sand dunes in Morocco. We will see plenty of nomadic with black tents in the middle of nowhere. We shall stop by one of the families to have tea and see what a nomadic life looks like. Generally, the whole the will be full of new and unforgettable experiences with generous and lovely people.

 


 

Day 8 : Todra gorges

Leaving the desert, we move on to Todra Gorge. This 1000ft gorge is hemmed in on all sides by vertical limestone cliffs and is affectionately known as Morocco’s Grand Canyon. We’ll visit a favorite Berber co-operative where you can see and buy authentic, Berber handmade rugs. The afternoon, we have a plenty of optional activities to do either we explore more the Gorges, rock climbing, hors rid or a short walk in the charming oasis and alfalfa fields.

 


 

Day 9 : Ait Ben hadou

We leave Todra to Ait Ben Hadou, through the valley of the roses where we will have a chance for an optional visit to Berber family to enjoy a second local breakfast and have an idea about the way of life in the valley. Ouarzazt or the noiseless town is another big city comes ahead on our way. Famous for shouting movies such as Game of Thronrs, The Last Temptation of Christ and The Living Daylights. On a hill along the Ouarzazate River we find Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which boasts great examples of Kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited. This afternoon we have a guided tour of the famous Kasbah and village.

 


 

Day 10 : Marrakech

Free morning to discover the village more, climb to the hill by yourself, and get small souvenirs from the locals. After lunch we Head west to Marrakech traversing the High Atlas Mountains on the impressive zig-zag of Tiz n Tichka pass, eventually to arrive in Marrakesh where you may have time to explore the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square.

 


 

Day 11 : Marrakech

Overnight: Marrakech

Today is your discovery day, after breakfast, meet your guide at your hotel and start your adventure tour from the Bahia Palace that is one of the best-preserved historical sites and certainly most interesting in Marrakech. Built in the late 19th century by Si Moussa, Grand Vizier of the Sultan, a former slave who climbed the ranks, Originally built for the personal use of Si Moussa, to be occupied, soon after, by his son Bou Ahmed.

Stop by the great pride and landmark of Marrakech the Koutoubia Mosque that was Built by the Almohads in the late 12th Century; its famous minaret is the prototype for others of its kind around the world, including Hassan Tower in Rabat and La Giralda in Seville.

Jamaa El Fena Square is located in the opposite side of the Koutoubia Mosque which is worth to visit and enjoy in it. Nobody knows for certain of the origin of this square probably as old as the city itself, it is a place for public executions during the day, and the meeting point of musicians, mystics, food sellers, pickpockets, acrobats, snake charmers, storytellers, dancers, fortune tellers and other exotic characters at night.

Majorel Gardens will be optional to visit after lunch, otherwise; you enjoy the rest of the day exploring more in the souks and have a beautiful sunset view from the terrace of one of the famous cafe shops in the square.

 


 

Day 12 : Essaouira

We leave Marrakech after breakfast and take a leisurely drive to Essaouira; today the experience is different as we will stop on the way to see the goats climbing the Argan trees, the latter is known as the Moroccan tree as it produces the Argan fruit in which we make oil out of it, more than that, this kind of tree is only grown in this part of Morocco so as to lead our country to be the first producer of this oil in all over the world. The lunch will take place, in Essaouira, in a local fish market and enjoy fresh seafood as we will pick our own fish to be grilled on the charcoal; Otherwise many restaurants around serve good and healthy food apart of the fish. Getting lost in the alleys of the Medina, interacting with locals and optional having relaxing massage in Moroccan Hamam (bath) are parts of the adventure in Essaouira during the second part of the day before we check-in our place.

 


 

Day 13 : Essaouira – Marrakech

Overnight: Marrakech

Free morning to discover the city more and visit the local harbor early in the morning with the sunrise to see the fishermen back from the sea with their small blue boats, or just have more time to rest in your hotel before we drive back to Marrakech in the afternoon.
